I have 25 years of experience in my private massage practice, and have taught nearly 1,000 students in my work as a teacher of massage therapy. I'm also a mother.
I know how crazy life can get — between taking care of the kids, work, family responsibilities, walking the dog, helping aging parents, the home...
As a mom, you do it all. You are a nurturer and caretaker. You feed everyone — literally with healthy food and also emotionally with compassion and love.
Your family is important to you; their well-being is on top of your list. You put others first — and that sometimes makes you forget about yourself.
There are times when you get really tired, physically and also emotionally. You feel drained.
You worry that you are not doing enough and you can be really hard on yourself. But you're not one to give up easily, so you push yourself. After all, it's just "normal" to be stressed as a parent, right?
No. Long term that's not healthy.

I have a B.A. in performance and teaching dance and creative movement from the Vienna conservatory. I’m a NY State licensed massage therapist, certified holistic aromatherapist and certified sound healing facilitator.
I love my work and I continue to learn more about the body, about people and the world.
My most proud accomplishments are my 2 children (I put a lot of my creative energy into nurturing them and guiding them).
I am passionate about social justice and co-creating an inclusive society. I have training in non violent conflict resolution and community building and have facilitated workshops for men in a maximum security prison, for disenfranchised youth in the community and adults who want to build more self awareness.
I have been a founding member and president of SEPTA (special education parent teacher association) and have advocated for programs and inclusion.
I can’t thank you enough for participating in this year’s SEL Institute!
The teachers loved the sound bath! What a beautiful experience for all of us:)
I’m so grateful to have been blessed with your talents that second afternoon.
I hope we can connect again in the future and possibly share an experience like this with the students.
Best,
After working with Karin as a client for her sound shiatsu and massage offerings, enrolling in her 3-month workshop allowed me to take my healing deeper and learn new tools for supporting myself in my creative practice. I loved how she included many modalities, from pelvic floor work to vocalization to drawing and journaling while also including sound healing, meditation, and postural exercises. The series felt very customized to what I was working on so I imagine it would be different for everyone. I recommend this for anyone called to work on something bigger than what just one session would allow.
I came in tired and overworked and left feeling like a new person. My friends and family have noticed how much better I feel. I have renewed energy and am really enjoying my life for the first time in ages.
If you have been going to the generic massage places, this is going to be a whole new experience. Karin's expertise feels therapeutic and provides lasting results, which is what I was looking for. I have renewed energy and am really enjoying my life for the first time in ages.
